During their two days of one-to-one meetings, delegates were invited to take part in some special activities while they networked, including spray painting their own street art, mending fisherman’s nets on a white-sand beach, and witnessing adorable Portuguese water dogs at work, as well as sharing pedal boat rides and Segway tours of the estate. Delegates also took part in a group cooking experience, preparing Cataplana – a Portuguese seafood dish – and were treated to an evening cocktail party with live entertainment. The event was sponsored by Amadeus, BBC World News and Spafinder Wellness 365, while the Connections experiences were sponsored by Portugal No Limits. Along with the networking, delegates enjoyed an informative debate between the CEO of Sha Wellness Clinic, Alfredo Pineda, and the Vice President of Six Senses Hotels Resorts and Spas, Anna Bjurstam; a thought leadership session, “All About the Future Generation” from digital entrepreneur, Ewan MacLeod; and roundtable discussions addressing issues impacting the luxury travel industry.
The Connections way works best when you embrace the experiences on offer. During the day we would advise that all delegates dress in comfortable/casual attire.
Suits and ties are not required
We all like you to look your best, but with our programme being active, suits may not work!
Think carefully about heels
Heels can be a problem if you want to join some of the activities on offer, so if you’re going to wear heels, consider bringing some flats too so you don’t miss out.
Weather
The average temperature in the Algarve in March is likely to be 15°C, but please do check the weather before packing your suitcase.
We do advise that all delegates take their own necessities, which may include, medical supplies, etc.
Connections experiences sponsored by Portugal NOLIMITS
Here at Connections Luxury, we’re dedicated to creating the best possible environment to help our buyers and suppliers create deep, lasting business relationships with each other. We put a significant amount of thought into the planning of the schedule to ensure ample time to meet as many people as possible. Even our breakfasts and lunches are geared toward relationship forming opportunities. The Experiences — or activities — were intended to act as replacements for table top introductory meetings. Instead of sitting in the (admittedly very nice!) hotel ballroom at an assigned table, our buyers and suppliers were encouraged to try an activity together.
Here are listed the activities, to give you an idea of what to expect:
Bike Ride Cork Art Fisherman’s net mending Floating green Herbal Tea Tasting Pedalo Boat Portuguese Water Dogs Remote controlled boats Vintage Cars Segway experience
