Connections Meetings’ inaugural event took place December 9-12, 2015 at two locations – DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon Fontana Park and Conrad Algarve, Portugal – giving delegates a taste of the potential for twin-destination MICE events in the region. During their two days of one-to-one meetings, delegates took part in activities such as tuk-tuk rides through Lisbon, graffiti painting, learning how to use a drone (including how to take spectacular selfies) and having a game of golf with their potential new business partners. Connections experiences were sponsored by Portugal No Limits. Delegates also worked together as a group to prepare traditional orange rolls, and conducted meetings while riding on a local Lisbon tram. In addition, meeting designer Mike Van der Vijver shared his expertise on how meetings can be created and shaped to deliver their desired result in the most effective way.
The Connections way works best when you embrace the experiences on offer. We would like you to be prepared so here are some useful information in advance of the event.
During the day we would advise that all delegates to dress in a comfortable attire. Please note this includes loose fitting trousers, t-shirts, and comfortable shoes. Some of the experiences on offer may require a bit of walking so we advise no heels!
For any outside activities we do advise that delegates take warm clothes, such as cardigans, jumpers, scarfs, etc as the weather can vary at this time of the year.
Please check the weather in Faro before packing your suitcase.
Suits are not required – we all like you to look your best, but our programme being quite active, suits won’t work that well!
Ties are not required – even with the evening programme, we are in a relaxed environment and want you to feel comfortable.
Think carefully about heels– heels can be a problem if you want to join some of the activities we’ve got planned for you (tuc tuc riding or segway experience) so if you’re going to wear heels, consider bringing some flats too so you don’t miss out.
We do advise that all delegates take their own necessities, which may include, insect repellent, medical supplies, etc.
