It's a well-known psychological fact that nothing is remembered without emotion, and by sharing an experience with another human, it creates a shared emotion. When we remember that person, we remember the emotion and of course if the emotion is positive, we are far more likely to pick up the phone and reach out to each other in the future.
Inspiring the future of networking
Since our launch in 2014, we’ve hosted 30 incredible events all over the world in the luxury, wellbeing, adventure, high-end meetings and incentive sectors – and to mark our fifth birthday – the weddings sector.
It all started when Micaela Giacobbe joined Jacobs Media Group, Europe’s largest travel and hospitality B2B media company. She had one mission: to launch a new-age networking platform for senior decision makers in luxury travel. Micaela's pioneering concept was to connect selected high-calibre buyers with leading suppliers over local, authentic experiences around the world. Within days Connections was born, with the first ever event taking place at the renowned Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire later that year.
For five years, there has been no limit to where and how our leaders do business. Meetings have been held on the edge of a volcanic crater in Ecuador and within the carts of Santa Monica’s Pacific Wheel. Delegates have test-driven Lamborghinis in Hampshire, bonded over games of beach volleyball in Rio de Janeiro, and dined at the longest table in the world in Hyderabad, India.
But Connections was created to be more than just a place of meetings. We’ve become known and valued for our human approach to networking, becoming a versatile network that adapts to the lifestyle of our mobile decision makers. Our delegates can discover new business opportunities and establish new partnerships with the right people, all around the world.
Building upon the success and feedback of the past five years, we want to elevate the Connections product by transforming it into a private platform, shaped and owned by the people powering our industry.
Whatever the sector we serve – wherever we do business in the world – the essence of Connections will always be the same: to offer an intimate and creative environment dedicated to nurturing business relationships.
